So... this it it. On the following three day journey, I went to a baseball game, toured the slums of Detroit, threw a surprise birthday party, crashed a wedding rehearsal, filmed a wedding, talked with people I haven't seen in ages, etc.
Note: Clicking a picture will show you a much bigger version of it.
The First Baseball Game Ever
You know those things that you've always wanted to do? You grow up hoping to drive a car, go to a faraway place, stay up all night... gradually, these wishes seem to be granted. Since a very young age, I've longed to go to a real baseball game...
When I heard that I'd won a free trip to a Detroit Tigers game (through my youth group), somehow life became happier. ;) I ended up spending $10 on a hot dog and drink at the game, but hey, it's all part of the experience! Walking around the stadium (seeing all the sights), was a blast!
Then post some pictures already!!
Okay I will!!! Just get off my back, left brain. >_>

Some of the people who took me to the game:

Slums and the People Mover
Believe it or not, I've hardly seen a real homeless person in my life. I have memories of one or two guys who may have been so, but even they weren't for certain. After the baseball game, Levi, El and Andrew picked me up with several lunch bags to pass out. I gave some of them to a homeless guy and girl. It was quite gratifying!
This. Is. Not. Possible.
We drove around on Detroit's "People Mover", which is basically a train in the air. It gives a great view of the city! We walked (and rode) through so many strange places. After handing out sandwich bags worth like 50 cents each, we went to a restaurant where I bought the most expensive thing on the menu. *sigh*
The HEATHEN GLUTTON standing in front of Canada!!

Ryan Cooper, YES!
We shocked, and I mean SHOCKED, Ryan with a surprise birthday party. ;)

Ryan opening a *cough* slightly unorthodox gift from us guys. :P

The Rehearsal!
By "crashing the wedding rehearsal", I just meant showing up unexpectedly. :P I wasn't planning to be in the wedding, so my job was taking care of the little kids. Best. Job. Ever.

Afterwards (10:30pm, perhaps?), we went to the Wegners' house for a rehearsal party.
Kevin practising his Best Man speech. Many laughs. :P
Marriage... Brings Us Together, Today.
The day of Ryan Wegner and Rachel Heyworth's wedding arrived!
Playing tricks on the iron lady, El?

Approximately 10 minutes before the wedding, I was asked to video the ceremony! What a nerve-racking opportunity it was! I accepted, and really enjoyed having the responsibility. Ryan and Rachel, if you hate the video I took, please kill Andrew first! He recommended me!

The best part of the ceremony (aside from the getting married) was a goof. :P Mr. Heyworth was asked who gives this woman to be married, and he mistakenly said, "Her father and I do." An awkward laugher came next. That's usually the kind of thing that only happens in movies. ;)

One of these people do not belong. :P

This SELFISH table refused to let us peasants sit with them!

Long ago, I loved to write out long, dramatic conclusions to blog posts, but I shall just end this quietly. However, a final congradulation is in order. :)

The HEATHEN GLUTTON standing in front of Canada!!
This really made me laugh!
Great post JJ! Loved it!
I got the email with your blog update, scrolled through the pictures, and left the dumb WORDS for later. I finally read the words today and it was so totally worth it! They might be better than the pictures.
Then why was it so hard to start reading?
are you going to update your blog?
Probably, but I will likely be updating my website (JJBiddinger.com) more often.
You went all the way to Detroit for baseball, but not to see the Red Wings?! {sigh}
However, very cool that you got to hand out food to some of the homeless!
