The Green Band That Changed the World

Nearly four months ago, we went ice skating with the Bendixens. At the skating rink, the workers give you a green band to put around your arm, so they can identify skaters inside the rink. I kept the band on for a long time, at least several weeks. But, several weeks later, went we ice skating again (which you can read about in my post titled The Longest Day of My Life) and I received a new green band.

The first one was ugly, messy and nearly falling off, so I decided to finally take it off. However, in taking off the first one, I left the second one on. It has now been several months since that time (literally, April 16, 2009 will be my three-month anniversary), and I still have this half-plastic/half-paper and fully green band around my arm. It was even the center object of a game of Psychologist we played while the Bendixens were at our house at a later date.

Here is a picture of me and my green band I took last night:

People ask me all the time, "You still have that thing on?", so yes, I do, and I have no plans on taking it off anytime soon. I have thought about when, how, or why I should take it off (as it is very beat up now). That will be a dramatic event to say the least. Any ideas?

God bless, J.J.

ROFL! One question I have to ask, why? Why keep it on so long? OOH hey! Write Guinness world records, see if you can keep it on for a record. LOL

My brother and I kept the green bands that we had to wear for our 4h fair on our wrists for a few months afterward:)Eventually Mom told us to just take them off 'cause we'll get another one next year! hehe...I lived...:)

I'm sure that, however you decide to take it off, it will be funny.

My dad's 4H wristband WAS pink! (He was a 4H leader.) The funny thing was that he had to go to work that week.

I checked out your DVD review of Come What May and it looks like a great video! My family and I recently watched Faith Like Potatoes and there were some things that weren't great in the beg. because it was the man's life before he accepted Christ, but it was a good video. If you watch it, make sure you put the subtitles on, because they have accents, so it is hard to understand. (: Choose English, though, or then it will be even harder to make out what they are saying! :D

Have a blessed Sunday!

I have some bad news... I was planning on taking the green band off last weekend (dramatically). But I didn't, so I don't know when I should. :|

Rachel M., I'm glad you read the article! It is my first ever published article! I've heard about Faith Like Potatoes, so thanks for the info. :)
