On New Year's night, my Dad, Donnie and I played Risk. It was a great game, especially because I won it in the end! We started it at around midnight 2009, and didn't finish until after 5am! We also played it the next night, this time with Andrew, Donnie and I. I started out strong, so they both came after me. :( After more than five more hours, Donnie won the game.
It was also Susanna's birthday today! She is now 4-years-old. Sadly, I don't have any pictures whatsoever from the past several days, as the camera has a dead battery.
This has been the most amazing year of my life. Here are some things that happened that are phenomenal memories now:
8. I created an account on Wikipedia. Since March 3, 2008, I have made 15,000+ edits to various Wikimedia projects, but I am not on them as much as I once was. I have learned how to type fast, spell correctly, use proper grammar and write featured articles through it.
7. Piano Practice. Though I'm not very good and still a beginner, I have learned so much on the piano and how to read music this year. Six months ago I had no clue what a note was or anything as such. I'm glad to have learned all I have.
6. Having Home Church. That was the most amazing Sunday and church service ever. It had such a long lead-up and was very memorable.
5. Thanksgiving.
4. Christmas.
3. Lake Huron Trip.
2. Boyne Sk Trip. From February 27–29, 2008, our ski trip with the Bendixens was the greatest vacation ever. It wasn't even topped by the Lake Huron trip.
1. Barak and Amanda's wedding. There was so much emotion and memories from the day (and forthcoming days), it was the greatest day of my entire life – August 8, 2008 (at least, yet ;).
I only hope that 2009 will be as memorable and life-changing as this past year was. God can do it, and He will. Happy New Year everyone!

I can't believe you would spend FIVE HOURS on a game like Risk and then say it was good! My brain starts to melt at just the thought of it!

I really like this post, JJ! I really like the eight things you listed. Great format. Most of those are wonderful memories we both share. A truly wonderful year. I enjoyed Christmas and the wedding so, so much. You're a great brother.
BTW. I'm so happy you won Risk. Andrew was telling me about how he could hear Donny and your dad both trying to convince you to get the other person.
